Mastering the Controls
The design keeps controls minimal, letting the tension stay front and center:
- Left mouse button – Interact or fire
- Right mouse button – Cancel or back out
- Mouse wheel / Q / E – Spin the chamber during reload
With such simple inputs, the challenge lies not in learning the game, but in overcoming your fear of the next click.
Six Ways to Suffer
What is Six Ways to Suffer
Six Ways to Suffer is a dark, tension-filled indie game that throws players into a deadly gamble against a sinister being known only as The Dealer. At a table sits The Dealer, a shadowy figure who demands you play his twisted game. In Six Ways to Suffer, survival depends on your choices with a cold metal revolver. Inspired by Buckshot Roulette and built during the 100Devs challenge, this indie project blends horror atmosphere with high-risk strategy.
There’s no refusing The Dealer. The rules are brutal yet simple: you must earn $999 before he lets you go. Each round pushes you deeper into danger, where bullets, luck, and your own nerve decide whether you win freedom or meet your end.
Surviving the Game
The mechanics of Six Ways to Suffer demand careful judgment:
- Loading the revolver: Insert bullets into the chamber and prepare for the shot.
- Choosing your aim: Point the gun at yourself for higher payouts or at The Dealer for smaller, safer returns.
- Collecting special bullets: Unique ammunition introduces new effects, and combining them can tip the odds in your favor.
- Spinning the chamber: Randomize the load order to reset your fate with the mouse wheel or keyboard keys.

Built by the Community
Six Ways to Suffer is more than just a survival experiment, it's the product of collaboration. Created in only two weeks for the 100Devs community challenge, it stands as a testament to how quickly indie developers can transform an idea into a working, atmospheric game. Players can even access the source code and assets, exploring how the project was built and potentially expanding it further.
Six Ways to Suffer dares you to balance survival with greed in a void where the stakes couldn’t be higher. Do you risk your life for greater rewards, or play cautiously and drag out your escape? The Dealer doesn’t care, only the revolver decides. Sit at the table, take the gun, and see if you can walk away with your freedom.
