Outblight
Introduction to Outblight
Outblight is a dark fantasy turn-based strategy roguelite where smart planning matters more than fast reactions. You play as Kirs, a void hunter who enters the Abyss and battles strange creatures through a dice-driven clash system. Instead of choosing one attack at a time, you study the enemy's planned moves and build an action chain to counter them. Attack, Defense, Buff, and delayed actions interact differently, while dice ranges add an element of calculated risk to each clash. Combined with card-game elements and atmospheric 2D visuals, this browser game turns every encounter into a compact tactical puzzle.
Key Features of Outblight
- Turn-Based Clash Combat: Build a chain of actions before the fight resolves, then watch your choices collide with enemy moves slot by slot.
- Visible Enemy Intent: Opposing actions are shown in advance, rewarding careful counterplay rather than blind guessing.
- Dice-Driven Strategy: Actions use dice ranges instead of fixed values, forcing you to balance reliable rolls against riskier moves with greater potential.
- Multiple Action Types: Attack, Defense, Buff, and delayed attacks create different ways to respond to an enemy chain.
- Dark Fantasy Setting: Hand-drawn 2D visuals and strange void creatures give the Abyss its distinctive, unsettling atmosphere.
Gameplay Guide for Outblight
Outblight is built around reading the battlefield before committing to a turn. The enemy shows what it intends to do, giving you a chance to choose a response for each action slot.
Build Your Chain and Win the Clash
Each slot presents several possible moves. Picking the strongest-looking attack is not always the right answer; its dice range and the enemy action opposite it matter just as much.
Once the chain is ready, the actions resolve in sequence. When two attacks clash, both sides roll and the higher result wins. Defense can reduce incoming damage, while landing damage at the right moment can interrupt an enemy Buff. Strong results may also influence the next part of the chain, so one well-planned move can change how the rest of the turn unfolds.

Tips for Winning Clashes
- Read the full enemy chain first. Plan around what the opponent is preparing rather than choosing moves independently.
- Compare dice ranges carefully. A consistent roll may be more useful than an action with a high maximum but poor minimum.
- Interrupt Buffs when possible. Dealing damage during a Buff can stop it before it takes effect.
- Think one slot ahead. The result of a clash can influence the following action.
- Don't attack in every slot. Mixing Defense with offense can protect Kirs when an aggressive gamble is too risky.
