Overview of the Snooker Online Game

Snooker Online is a free online billiards and cue sports game inspired by the traditional snooker played on professional tables. The game follows the official structure of the sport: players use a cue stick and a white cue ball to pot red and colored balls in a specific order to earn points.

The match is played with 22 balls in total:

  • 15 red balls
  • 6 colored balls (yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, black)
  • 1 white cue ball

Players take turns aiming shots, building scores, and trying to clear the table with the highest number of points. Because the game can be played online against players worldwide, every match feels competitive and unpredictable.

How to Play Snooker Online

Core Gameplay

The gameplay follows the classic rules of snooker. Each turn begins with a clear objective: pot the correct ball in the correct order.

Here is the basic flow of the game:

Break the rack

At the start, the red balls are arranged in a triangle. The cue ball begins inside the D-shaped area used for the opening shot.

Pocket a red ball first

A red ball is worth 1 point and is removed from the table once pocketed. Then target a colored ball. After potting a red, you must aim for a colored ball. Each colored ball has a different value:

  • Yellow - 2 points
  • Green - 3 points
  • Brown - 4 points
  • Blue - 5 points
  • Pink - 6 points
  • Black - 7 points

Colored balls return to the table

When a colored ball is pocketed during this stage, it returns to its original marked spot unless another ball blocks it.

Repeat the red color sequence

Continue alternating between red and colored balls until all reds are cleared.

Final colored sequence

Once the last red ball is gone, the remaining colored balls must be pocketed in order from lowest to highest value:

yellow → green → brown → blue → pink → black.

The match ends after the final ball is cleared. The player with the highest score wins.

Fouls and Penalties

Accuracy matters in snooker. If a player:

  • Hits the wrong ball first
  • Pots an incorrect ball
  • Breaks the turn rules

…it counts as a foul.

When a foul occurs:

  • The opponent receives at least 4 points
  • If the fouled ball is worth more than 4 points, that higher value is awarded instead
  • The turn immediately ends

This rule keeps the match fair and encourages careful shot planning.

Game Controls

The controls are simple and intuitive:

Mouse Controls:

  • Move the mouse - Aim the cue
  • Click and drag backward - Set shot power
  • Release the mouse button - Strike the cue ball

Additional actions:

  • If arrows appear around the cue ball, you can drag it inside the D area (this happens at the start or after an opponent foul).
  • Click the cue ball icon at the top of the screen to apply spin and control how the ball reacts after impact.

Tips to Improve Your Game

New players can improve quickly by focusing on a few fundamentals:

  1. Plan two shots ahead - Try to position the cue ball for the next target after every successful shot.
  2. Use gentle power when needed - Overpowering shots can ruin your positioning.
  3. Learn spin control - Applying spin helps control where the cue ball travels after contact.
  4. Avoid risky angles - A missed shot can give your opponent an easy scoring opportunity.
