What Is Vex?

Vex is a platform game that is skill based and is based on movement. You aim to get to the end of every level by going over spikes, moving traps, and lethal drops. The levels are geared towards testing your timing as opposed to confusing you with a lot of complexity. In order to make sure that there is fair play, along each stage, there are checkpoints where you can get the opportunity to resume after errors rather than being required to restart all over.

How to Play Vex

Vex is a game about rhythm. There are those jumps which are forgiving and those that they need to be at that time. You will lose and that is all to be expected. Every effort will make you more familiar with the traps and their motions.

The more you go up, the less time you have to take on the obstacles, which tighten and increase in speed. Rushing rarely works. There is almost no movement which is not calmed and controlled.

Simple and Responsive Controls

Vex maintains control to the bare minimum:

  • Arrow Keys - Left and right movements.
  • Up Arrow - Jump
  • Down Arrow - Bend / crouch

The controls are tight and are responsive, which is necessary when every jump counts.

The Reason Vex Is So Hard To Quit

The reason why Vex works is that it is honest. When you fail, you know why. When something works, you know you have worked. Such a proportion of difficulty and justice makes quitting difficult, even when one has made dozens of attempts.
