Flipchick
What Is Flipchick?
Flipchick is a turn-based roguelike strategy game where you guide a brave little chick through dangerous sewer tunnels filled with hostile creatures. Instead of traditional cards or abilities, the game uses a clever coin-based action system that determines what your character can do each turn.
All battles are fought on a small grid-like battlefield whereby positioning, timing, and planning are no less important than actually attacking. What you need to accomplish is easy, but difficult: kill all the enemies on your way, live several days of increasing complexity, and finally kill the last boss.
How to Play Flipchick
Basic Objective
Your task is to pass six days of battle and kill the last boss that is at the end of the sewer.
Turn Structure
Each turn follows a simple but strategic structure:
- You may activate up to two coins per turn.
- Each coin represents an action your chick can perform.
- Possible actions include:
- Move across the grid
- Attack nearby enemies
- Defend against damage
- Push enemies away
- Swap positions on the battlefield
When you make your moves, the enemies will react according to their strategies hence it is important to plan beforehand. The bad placement may result in destruction or being surrounded very soon.
Deck Building and Progression
Between battles, Flipchick shifts into a light deck-building roguelike system.
After clearing a battlefield, you can:
- Choose new coins to add to your action deck
- Collect perks that improve your abilities
- Recover health before the next encounter
Game Controls
- Left Click - Select and activate a coin action (attack, move, defend, push, or swap).
- Drag Window - The coin window can be dragged in order to flip the coin and show the other action.
- Click Skip- Skip your turn when you do not want to use a coin.
Tips to Survive the Sewers
If you're new to Flipchick, these strategies can help you last longer:
Tip 1: Think About Positioning
Enemies move based on predictable patterns. Standing in the wrong place can expose you to multiple attacks.
Tip 2: Balance Offense and Defense
Attack coins are powerful, but having at least one defensive option can save your run.
Tip 3: Choose Perks Carefully
Some perks work best with certain coin combinations. Try building synergy between them.
Tip 4: Plan the Whole Turn
Because you only get two actions per turn, every move should be intentional.
Flipchick with a tiny battlefield, a handful of coins, and clever mechanics, creates tense and satisfying tactical moments. Show the courageous little chicken, trick the sewer-monsters, and find out whether you will live long enough to kill the last boss.
